Free Fitness Classes In San Diego


San Diego offers many free fitness classes, and this is our space to compile them all! Try something new and experience a new-to-you workout or studio. These offerings are zero cost and offered as a gift to the community. As can be expected, scheduling changes and cancellations may occur. Be sure to verify the class is in fact being held before showing up.

Mondays

5:00pm
Learn techniques to awaken your spiritual heart in an introductory meditation class at the North Park location.

6:15pm
Limited to only 8 students, restorative yoga poses help relieve chronic stress, and promote relaxation and stretching. Additionally, the wellness program provides weekly nutritional quick tips and recipes. Sign up at the Balboa Park Activity Center front counter.

Tuesdays

9:00am
Taught by Yoga One's recent teacher training graduates, the classes include sun salutations, standing and seated poses, all linked with the breath. Appropriate for new and continuing students. Donations are optional.

In the heart of Golden Hill, this slow-paced class is designed to support the growth and healing of our military veterans. Practitioners will begin to foster flexibility, awareness, and relaxation in combination with yoga poses, breath, and meditation. 

Saturdays

Crossfit (Various)
Many San Diego crossfit gyms offer complimentary 60 minute classes on Saturdays at 10:00am (some are offered at 11:00am). You can expect to learn foundational movements, get to know the coaches, and try the workout before committing to a membership.

10:15am
Join the Point Loma Sports Club every Saturday for a free, all-levels yoga flow! This class is designed to energize and relax the body and the mind. Beginners, advanced yogis, and everyone in between is welcome. 

10:30am 
Partake in a beautiful community yoga class atop Trilogy Sanctuary's rooftop space. From week to week, expect a variety of teachers and styles, although classes will be formulated for everyone (with modifications encouraged). Show up early to save your spot!

4:00pm
This level 1 vinyasa class is open to all! There will be a different instructor each week, from their teacher training program. Come support these new instructors in their journey!

Experience yoga and nature in an amazing setting at beautiful Balboa Park. All levels are welcome. Classes are free or donation based, it is up to you.

Yoga Basics - Mesa Rim
Learn the basics of yoga for free at Mesa Rim Climbing & Fitness Center. The class details proper breathing techniques and postural alignment.

Community Yoga - White Peacock Yoga
This Encinitas-based restorative class will soothe you after a full weekend and ease you into a productive week ahead. Learn techniques for stretching and relaxing.

Meditation & Dharma - Bird Rock Yoga
Experience an evening of meditation and dharma every Sunday with Kevala and Bird Rock Yoga. Based on the teachings of The Untethered Soul, this class encourages you to live more mindfully. Come solo or bring a friend - no experience necessary!
