Donation Fitness Classes In San Diego


San Diego offers several low cost donation-based fitness classes. Some donations are a "pay what you want" model and others request a specific amount. These class offerings are a phenomenally fun way to try out new studios and instructors! Remember, schedule changes and cancellations may occur. Heart & Sweat provides this list as a resource, but we recommend confirming with the studio prior to attending any class. 

Mondays

3:30pm
Heated 90 to 100 degrees, this 75 minute class is suitable for beginners or anyone who just wants to slow down and get back to the basics. Breathing technique and alignment are given and taught as the foundation of a safe and beneficial practice. Taught by teachers recently out of their training program.

Tuesdays

9:00am
Taught by Yoga One's recent teacher training graduates, the classes include sun salutations, standing and seated poses, all linked with the breath. Appropriate for new and continuing students. Donations are optional.

Come practice at the beach with Bird Rock Yoga! All levels are welcome for this 75 minute vinyasa flow class, set to the sounds of ocean waves. Bring a mat or a beach towel to practice on. This donation-based class supports local charities.

Wednesdays

Held at the Normal Heights location, this practice is traditionally known as Kirtan, with live music, ancient mantras, and storytelling to help you find dynamic tranquility.

AcroJam is like open gym for acroyogis. It's a great opportunity to play with new people, practice new moves or old moves, and have fun! No experience necessary.

Get your yoga on AND help the community. For a $5+ donation, enjoy an all-level vinyasa class led by a recent Bird Rock Yoga teacher training graduate. Proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

7:00pm
Kula means "community" in sanskrit. This all-levels vinyasa class is led by graduates of the teacher training program. Each week, a different teacher will guide you through a sequence of their own creation. All you need is an open heart and a willingness to have fun. Proceeds benefit a charity.

Sundays

Beach Yoga - Del Mar
Join Cindy Ballentine at Del Mar Beach between 18th and 19th Street entrances every Sunday for a challenging vinyasa flow. Options will be offered for all levels. The full practice is in the sand, which adds to the fun. Bring a beach towel or yoga mat, water, and sunscreen.

Yoga - Balboa Park
Experience yoga and nature in an amazing setting at beautiful Balboa Park. All levels are welcome. Classes are free or donation based, it is up to you.

Each week, indoor cycling studio SPARKCYCLE selects a charity and a fun, sweat-inducing ride to go along with it. These high-intensity spinning classes are donation-based. Check the weekly schedule and look for the 'Karma Ride' to sign up! Reservations must be made in advance.
